Kailash Kher is not only one of the most loved Indian artists internationally, but also among the most respected for his modest and inspiring lifestyle. He was born in Meerut and his parents moved to Delhi, few years after his birth.

Throughout his formative years, Kailash was influenced immensely by the spiritual music of his father and the mellisonant and ariose culture of rustic and folksy surroundings he grew up in. As a youngster, he was influenced by Pandit Kumar Gandharv, renowned Indian classical singer. Coming from a conservative family, Kailash pursued his love for music as a hobby. He moved to Mumbai in the year 2001, where he started his foray into the music industry by singing jingles for various TV and radio commercials. His career started in Music & Film Industry not so long ago in the year 2002 and by now he has sung in 14 regional indian languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telgu, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, Sindhi, Bhojpuri Gujrati, Marathi, Punjabi, Konkani etc. for regional films and more than 200 songs for the Hindi film industry. Today, Kailash has sung for most of the biggest stars and their movies in Hindi and regional Indian films. He has sung for all the renowned music composers like Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Salim-Sulaiman, Zakir Hussain, Vishal Bhardwaj and A.R. Rahman. Not only is the contribution that Kailash Kher has made to the field of music undeniable, his role in the considerable revival of the trend of use of Sufi literature and lyrics, to the global culture of music itself is noble and sincere. From a small village in India, to the highlight of the global festival, Kailash has walked the sincere and honest path of life, getting and spreading the message of love.
